The countdown is on to one of Barrie’s biggest holiday traditions — the 76th Annual Barrie Santa Claus Parade — lighting up the streets this Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 5:00 PM.
Since 1949, this cherished parade has brought together thousands of families, neighbours, and community groups to ring in the season. This year’s theme, “Toyland,” turns downtown Barrie into a magical, glowing world where teddy bears march, toy trains roll, and Santa makes his grand entrance.
Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of the night — plus where to score free treats, warm up, and keep the holiday cheer going long after the floats roll by.
Parade Route & Start Time
📍 Start: Tiffin Street & Lakeshore Drive
🕔 Time: 5:00 PM sharp
📍 Route: Northbound on Lakeshore ➝ Toronto St ➝ Eastbound on Dunlop ➝ Ends at Poyntz St
🎺 The route is lined with marching bands, community floats, dancers, and surprise guests, all illuminated for a magical nighttime display. Expect more than 10,000 spectators, so arrive early for a good viewing spot.
2025 Theme: Welcome to the Magic of Toyland
This year’s “Toyland” theme is pure nostalgia — a tribute to the toys that sparked our childhood imaginations. Expect classic characters, oversized dolls, robots, teddy bears, and Santa’s sleigh to bring the story to life float by float.
Santa’s Fireside Gathering at Centennial Park
Want the best view of the parade? Head to Centennial Park for Santa’s Fireside Gathering, starting at 4:00 PM.
This cozy pre-parade hangout includes:
- A glowing fire pit
- Bleacher seating (limited)
- Food trucks with warm holiday bites
- Access to the lakeside viewing area
Note: Lakeshore Drive will be closed to traffic, so attendees must walk in. There’s a free shuttle to Victoria Street, and from there it’s just a short stroll to the park.
📬 Santa’s Helpers & Letters to the North Pole
Keep your eyes out early in the parade for Canada Post’s Santa’s Helpers — they’ll be collecting letters to Santa right along the route.
✨Pro tip: Have your letter addressed and stamped — it’ll get express-mailed straight to the North Pole!
🍫 FREE Treats at Liars Barrie
A big shoutout to Liars Barrie, who are spreading extra cheer this year with FREE hot chocolate, candy canes, and soup between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
