Running from February 5 to 15, 2026, this enchanting musical is a fresh take on the beloved classic, complete with glass slippers, pumpkins, and unforgettable songs. But it also offers something more… a deeper message of hope, justice, and kindness.
A Broadway-Caliber Production with Local Heart
This isn’t your childhood Cinderella. Based on the 2013 Broadway revival, this updated version features all the beloved Rodgers & Hammerstein songs like “In My Own Little Corner”, “Impossible”, and “Ten Minutes Ago”, now paired with a witty, socially conscious script written by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane.
Expect new twists, richer characters, and a story that celebrates not only dreams coming true, but also the courage to challenge injustice. In this retelling, Cinderella is not just transformed by magic. She also becomes a voice for the voiceless in her kingdom.
Presented by the Kempenfelt Community Players, this full company production features a talented cast of local adult performers, directed by Candy Prendergast with musical direction by Katie Pergau. It is set to bring professional-level theatre energy to the heart of Simcoe County.

Rodgers and Hammerstein originally created Cinderella for television in 1957, starring Julie Andrews. Over the years, it’s been reimagined for stage and screen, but the 2013 Broadway version is the first to combine the original score with an entirely new script.
